Hi everyone!
I received several encouraging emails cheering us on with our farming pursuits - thank you! I have been slammed with work...starting a farm has been quite the wild ride, but I'm loving it. My barn designer in Georgia disappeared when it came to delivering the final framing details, so I had to hire another architect to finish the same design. With Covid19 delays and the designer setbacks, I had to postpone building the barn until spring of 2021. I hired my husband, Ron, to be my general contractor. We may be lucky enough to get some footings in the ground before the snow comes this year, but perhaps it's best to start next year with a bang.
In the meantime we're putting together the greenhouse! Obviously, the Bulldogs were of enormous help as well. I'll propagate our elderberries, lavender, blueberries, veggies, and more in there. Still working my 9-5 job (until we're up and running at the farm), I miss being on the tractor. Ladies or gentlemen, if you have the opportunity to drive or buy a tractor...I highly recommend it ;) It is a blast and also liberating. This winter I'll be busy finalizing my plans for the farm, tapping our maples in February/March, ordering materials, etc. Lots of hoops to jump through but we're getting there! Until the next post, I hope you're all doing well, staying sane, and living the best life you were intended to live.
God bless!
-Samantha
